HOW DOES COACHING HELP?
Coaching is a powerful conversation and supportive relationship that helps you discover the most effective path towards your goals. A trained coach uses tools like Motivational Interviewing, Appreciative Inquiry, and elements of Positive Psychology to get to the root of behavior change.

Coaching can be an espeically helpful tool if you find yourself feeling stuck, overwhelmed, dysregulated, or tired of having tried other modalities that didn't stick. If you're not sure that coaching can help in your specific situation, book a Discovery Call to plan the best next step.
WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM WORKING WITH A COACH?
Anybody! A Coach is trained to provide support to individuals or groups in regard to physical, social, or mental health, as well as other general areas contributing to overall wellbeing. Some example goal areas are dealing with stress management, life transitions, improving relationships, addressing sleep or physical health, supporting a healthy work-life balance, navigating career, and more!

Coaches work in behavior psychology, and genearlly specialize in supporting clients through building habits or changes in behavior. A Coach is meant to be your advocate, support, and a guiding hand through the goal setting and achievement process.
WHAT IF I HAVE MORE THAN ONE GOAL - OR I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WANT OR WHERE TO START?
Coaching is multidimensional - meaning we don't just take a cookie-cutter appoach to things. Coaching is in part goal planning, but it is also a setting to explore possibilities, motivations, values, and patterns. If you have a laundry list of goals, feel "off" and you're not sure why, or anywhere in between - Coaching may be exactly what you need.

If you think you may need extra support in nervous system regulation, energetic alignment, or just want to dive deeper into the process, my Coaching Plus+ offering may be a perfect fit.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TYPICAL PSYCHOTHERAPY AND COACHING?
Psychotherapy and coaching differ primarily in their focus, scope, and methods. Psychology is the "why" behind our patterns, and coaching is the "how" we plan to move forward.

Psychotherapists and licensed mental health professionals are qualified to diagnose mental health conditions and provide treatment, which may include therapy to process past experiences and, when appropriate, medication management.

In contrast, coaches do not diagnose or prescribe treatments. Instead, coaching centers on identifying current behaviors and thought patterns, and collaboratively setting future-focused, actionable goals to support growth and positive change.

While psychotherapy often involves exploring and healing past trauma, coaching emphasizes co-leading the journey toward personal development alongside the client.
I HAVE SEEN SO MANY COACHES ONLINE. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO WORK WITH SOMEONE WITH THE NBC-HWC CREDENTIAL?
Currently, anyone can claim to be a coach in any field. A national board-certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) completed specific training in behavior psychology, passed a standardized national exam, holds a standard of ethics, and completes continuing education to provide you with the best possible collaboration.

Not only do I hold the NBC-HWC credential, I offer additional tools that support nervous system, body, and energy alignment in Coaching Plus+ sessions - backed by education and training, offering unique extras to fit your needs.

WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED TIME FRAME FOR WORKING WITH A COACH?
The minimum recommended time for working with a coach is consistently over 3 months, which is roughly 12 sessions. However, each person and each set of goals has different needs, so we will work together to find the best time frame and course of action to fit your goals.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PACKAGE AND A SUBSCRIPTION?
A package is a set number of sessions for a flat rate while a subscription is services for a recurring monthly rate. Packages allow for highly flexible scheduling within one month of purchase, while Subscriptions are built for routine weekly sessions at a dedicated time. HOW DO I BOOK MY PACKAGE AND SUBSCRIPTION SESSIONS?
Packages

After booking your first package session using Calendly, the confirmation page will display a link to book additional appointments. You may also receive an automated email with this link after booking. You may book all your appointments at once, or schedule them over time with the same link. If you cannot find your package link, simply contact me.

Subscriptions

For subscriptions, Contact Me to schedule your recurring weekly sessions. Your time will only be reserved once you start your subscription. Once your dedicated time is reserved, that's it! Your time is yours every week.

CAN I CANCEL MY RECURRING SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE?
Yes, you may cancel any subscription at any time by emailing me. There are no contracts regarding membership or subscription duration. However due to the nature of the work, stopping and starting memberships and subscriptions is not permitted more than once per calendar year.

If you are looking for more flexibility with scheduling, you may benefit from a Package service instead. For more questions, email me or book a a Discovery Call.

CAN I GET A REFUND FOR MY SERVICES?
Services will be refunded if they are canceled in accordance with the Cancellation Policy. A condensed version of the cancellation policy is below, however, please see the full Terms & Conditions for policy specifics, limitations, and rights. Unfortunately, sessions cancelled outside of the policy parameters are unable to be refunded.

Cancellation Policy

All services cancelled with less than 24 hour notice are ineligible for a reschedule or refund. Single services cancelled 24+ hours prior to service are eligible for a full refund or reschedule.

Packages are fully non-refundable, and Subscriptions are not partially refundable, with few exceptions. For more details, please see the Terms & Conditions.

HOW MUCH DO SERVICES COST, AND HOW CAN I PAY?
Costs for services vary depending on what service and if it is recurring. Generally, Basic tier coaching is $50/session while Plus+ sessions are at a Premium rate of $60/session. Be sure to compare your options on my Coaching Page. Payments can be made electronically via Stripe, Wise, and Venmo, and cash is also accepted at the time of service.
I CAN’T AFFORD COACHING SERVICES AT FULL PRICE RIGHT NOW, HOW CAN I PAY FOR SESSIONS?
Send an email or book a service consult to discuss your unique situation. TYL offers the Access Wellness Grant, which provides free services to an individual once per quarter. Applications are now open and are accepted on a cyclical basis.
DO YOU OFFER GIFT CARDS OR GIFT CERTIFICATES FOR SERVICES?
Yes! As of Fall 2025, TYL offers Gift Cards for all services. Gift Cards can be purchased for any amount directly through Stripe. Simply input the name and email of the recipient, and they will recieve a unique, personalized discount code to use for their preferred service(s).
WHY DO I NEED ORIGINAL SOUND ON ZOOM FOR SESSIONS WITH MUSIC, AND HOW DO I GET THAT TO WORK?
It is important to turn on the original sound (for musicians) function on Zoom because without that particular setting engaged, the program will condense the audio, making the sound less clear. Especially for music-related services, original sound is required so certain frequencies (high and low) are not cut out. You may find simple instructions on how to enable original sound here on a desktop or mobile app, and keep in mind you must be logged in to your Zoom account to enable original sound.
